Christ the King Church of Delafield Announces Rev. Gary Grindeland as New Pastor

Christ the King Lutheran Church of Delafield has announced that the Reverend Gary A. Grindeland recently became its Senior Pastor. Among his pastoral obligations, Grindeland conducts the congregation’s weekend services, helps coordinate and assists with the adult, senior, and youth programs, and provides spiritual support to church members and guidance to the community church’s care ministry, Sunday school program, preschool program, and administration.

 

Before joining Christ the King, Grindeland served as vice president of church and community relations for Lutheran Social Services (LSS) of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan and the state coordinator for Lutheran Disaster Response.

 

Grindeland has more than 20 years of parish experience and over ten years of social ministry experience in states throughout the Midwest and in New York City. He also serves on the Synod Council of the Greater Milwaukee Synod and the Lutheran Campus Ministry Board. A native of Ames, Iowa, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. In 1980, he was graduated from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.

 

Grindeland and his wife reside in Brookfield. They have two college-aged children.

 

Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1600 N. Genesee Street, Delafield, is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. An ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church of America) church, Christ the King has nearly 1,000 parishioners and welcomes new members. A special Saturday service is held each Saturday at 5 p.m., in addition to the regular Sunday service at 9 a.m.
