Carroll summer series
presents free play
As part of its summer repertory series, Carroll University will present 'As It Is In Heaven' at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 10-11, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 12, in Otteson Theater.
Admission is free; tickets can be reserved at the Carroll University Box Office, (262) 524-7633, or online at boxoffice@carrollu.edu.
The play centers on an early 1800s Shaker community in Kentucky, which is threatened by the arrival of newcomers who claim to see angels.
Local theater group
holds auditions for 'Gypsy'
Waukesha Civic Theatre has announced open auditions for 'Gypsy' during the evenings of Sunday through Tuesday, June 12-14, at 264 W. Main St., Waukesha.
Actors can sign up for audition times at tinyurl.com/zognp3m. Those auditioning should prepare 32 bars of music and provide sheet music in their key for the accompanist. Also, be prepared to read from the script. Those who can tap dance, twirl a baton, and/or do the splits, should be prepared to show those skills.
Callbacks, if needed, will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 16.

celebrate 30th reunion
Waukesha South, class of 1986, is planning a 30th reunion Friday and Saturday, June 24-25. Friday festivities feature an all-you-can-eat fish fry and brats at The Best Place, 901 W. Juneau Ave., Milwaukee. Tickets are $55, or $75 after June 10.

Rotary president addresses
World Affairs Seminar
Rotary International president-elect John F. Germ will address the 2016 World Affairs Seminar (WAS) on Sunday, June 26, at Carroll University.
This year's theme is 'Water: Global Resource to Share and Protect.' Water is one of the key areas of interest of Rotary International. Providing a safe water supply has been key to the organization's efforts to eliminate polio around the world.
It also fits with the theme of Germ's term: 'Rotary Serving Humanity.'
Annual golf outing
supports UW-Waukesha
The University of Wisconsin-Waukesha Foundation will host its 14th annual golf outing starting at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 27, at The Legend at Merrill Hills.
The golf outing honors Philip Zweifel, associate dean of the campus from 1995-2011. There are various levels of sponsorship available for both individuals and businesses to showcase their support for the UW-Waukesha Foundation and the campus.
The deadline for early-bird registration ends on June 1. Registration includes lunch and dinner, along with a raffle and a silent and live auction. Nongolfers are invited to register for the dinner.

Almont Gallery
features two artists
The Almont Gallery presents 'A Painterly Approach,' featuring artists Audrey Casey and Samantha Konop, through June 30, at 342 W. Main St., Waukesha.
Audrey Casey is a widely collected artist specializing in rural scenes. Her intricate and detailed oil paintings preserve a heritage that is fast disappearing.
Samantha Konop's large acrylic canvases are described as a controlled riot of complex color and pattern. Her newest paintings use alcohol ink and feature animals, birds and landscapes.

UW-W paves path
for challenged students
The University of Wisconsin-Waukesha offers the Paving the Path project for economically disadvantaged adult students.
The program meets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. four Saturdays in July and provides a first taste of college with a two-credit humanities class taught by UW-Waukesha faculty.
There is no cost for the students. The Women and Girls Fund of Waukesha County covers the tuition, books and meals.
After the course, the program offers advice for students who wish to continue their college education.

County fair announces
main stage headliner
Rock metal band Skid Row will perform Thursday, July 21, on the Miller Lite Main Stage at the 2016 Waukesha County Fair.
Skid Row formed in 1986 and are known for hits such as '18 and Life,' 'Youth Gone Wild' and 'I Remember You.'
All Miller Lite Main Stage shows are free with fair admission. Skid Row tickets will go on sale March 15 and are $50 for ELITE VIP and $15 for VIP.
Elite VIP tickets include Fair admission, preferred parking, two drink tickets and assigned seating in the front three rows. VIP tickets include first-come, first-served seating in a designated area in front of the stage.
Lumberjack show

Log rolling, chainsaw carving, axe throwing and woodchips flying — that's what you can look forward to seeing in the Timberwork's Lumberjack Show from July 20-24 at the 2016 Waukesha County Fair.
This event is free with paid fair admission.
The Timberwork's Lumberjack Show has featured a unique blend of logging history, friendly competition and comedy for over 25 years. The action-packed performance showcases lumberjacks competing in crosscut sawing, speed climbing, chopping, hot sawing, speed carving and other contests.
Headliners announced for
annual Waukesha BluesFest
The Waukesha Rotary Club has announced the headliners for the 10th anniversary of Waukesha BluesFest. The entertainment at this year's festival runs from coast to coast, featuring New York City blues guitarist Popa Chubby on Friday, Aug. 12, and San Francisco R&B standouts Lydia Pense and Cold Blood on Saturday, Aug. 13.
Waukesha BluesFest is held at Naga-Waukee Park, Highway 83, a half mile north of Interstate 94, Delafield. Gates open at 12:30 p.m. both Friday and Saturday with the music running from 1 to 10:30 p.m.

Hosting a family reunion, company picnic or planning an outdoor wedding? The Waukesha County Park System is taking 2016 reservations for picnic and group camping areas. Reservations are accepted through the park reservation desk from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. To view 2016 prices, visit waukeshacountyparks.com.
Park Entrance Stickers for 2016 are also available at Retzer Nature Center, S14 W28167 Madison St., Waukesha; Eble Park Ice Arena, 19400 W. Bluemound Road, Brookfield; Naga-Waukee Park Ice Arena, 2699 Golf Road, Delafield; the Parks and Land Use office, 515 W. Moreland Blvd., Room AC230, Waukesha; or order via the entrance hut pay tank at each park location.
These entrance stickers are good from the date of purchase through Dec. 31, 2016. Cost for a Waukesha County resident is $32 per car and $16 for a second vehicle; $16 for a senior and $10 for a second vehicle. Cost for an out-of-county resident is $42 per car and $21 for a second vehicle. Lake Access stickers are $80 per car and $40 for a second vehicle.
Walk-in clinic has
extended Tuesday hours
The Waukesha County Public Health Division is offering extended walk-in clinical services on Tuesdays.
The hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, an from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays.
Public health services are available on a fee for service basis and/or for a nominal fee. Medicaid is accepted only for residents of Waukesha County.
Walk-in clinical services are located within the Human Services Center at 514 Riverview Ave., Waukesha.
ProHealth Care offers
monthly Garden Talks
Community members are invited to participate in free monthly Garden Talks, offered by ProHealth Care and University of Wisconsin-Extension master gardeners.
The talks will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month in Waukesha Memorial's Lobby Rooms 1 and 2. Participants can register for individual classes or the entire series at ProHealthCare.org/Classes or (262) 928-2745.
