Flash Photography

Let’s face it, few of us amateur photographers know what exactly that flash is for on our camera. Now’s your chance to learn the secrets about the art of flash photography and get the high quality picture you want. This class will cover flash types, flash maintenance, flash exposure, light modifying tools (i.e. soft-boxes and bounce tools), using multiple flash units wirelessly, and much more. Bring your camera/flash equipment.

Don’t stop now...increase your ability of handling this medium and watercolor skill as you progress to an intermediate or advanced level. Gain more knowledge of watercolor through the use of a variety of materials and interesting techniques such as, layering your washes until you have the right value and contrast. As you learn and understand the essentials of values, color and composition you will be on your way to painting wonderful realistic looking images, as you paint from your own pictures or from those supplied by the instructor.

Cuba: Bridging Diverse Cultures-The Music of Cuba
With Wisconsin Public Radio’s Dr. Jonathan Overby
The trip and course are shaped to invest participants with both a culturally-inclusive investigation of Cuban music, and a general overview of world music /roots music and its relationship to Cuba. Stay in Old Havana and tour its historic plazas; attend perfor­mances at the famed Conjunto Folklórico Nacional de Cuba with an optional Buena Vista Social Club; tour Hemmingway’s home, Museum of Regal, and the University of Havana; visit artists; and attend workshop with musicians. NEW! Night Photography with HDR Workshop
Instructor, Chris Jourdan Dynamic night photos are within reach with this class! Our first class covers the tips, settings, and over rides on your camera to shoot in any night or low light setting as well as information on how to shoot and process HDR (high dynamic range) images using Photoshop and Photomatix. We’ll take a field excursion to downtown Waukesha our second class to capture images at night; again HDR images too! The third class we will process our HDR images and have a class critique slideshow along with a wrap up on any topics covered. This workshop is a must for anyone looking to capture in the dark or start into HDR photography.
