Wauwatosa Police Report: July 30

BURGLARY

1Two electric scooters and a bicycle worth $400 were taken from a garage in the 2300 block of North 63rd Street between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. July 19.

2A vehicle's window was smashed and a garage-door opener inside was used to allow burglars to steal tools worth $2,281 from a garage in the 4000 block of North 93rd Street at 10:41 a.m. July 19.

3 A golf club set and drills worth $2,150 were taken from a garage in the 2100 block of Menomonee River Parkway between 11 p.m. July 19 and 7 a.m. July 20.

4A basement window was removed and another window was smashed from a home in the 1900 block of Martha Washington Drive between 2:30 and 4 p.m. July 20. Nothing was taken from the home.

5A chainsaw and trimmer worth $349 were taken from a garage and car in the 4200 block of North 93rd Street between 5 and 6:15 p.m. July 23.

6A home in the 2600 block of North 82nd Street had its window pried open and multiple rooms ransacked between 6:47 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. July 25. A handgun, jewelry and collector's coins worth a total of $3,570 were taken.

THEFT

7A vehicle's window was smashed and tools were taken from it at the Crown Plaza Hotel, 10499 Innovation Drive, between 5 and 11:12 p.m. July 27. Total loss is estimated at $51.50.

8An employee was arrested for taking $52.19 from Kmart, 3201 N. Mayfair Road, between 8:14 p.m. July 14 and 3:12 p.m. July 17. Security caught him on video and he admitted to taking $75.

9A woman reported her credit card stolen after she discovered fraudulent charges on it made at Target, 3900 N. 124th St., between 8:15 and 10 p.m. July 17. Three charges were made, resulting in a loss of $896.

10A wallet was taken from a van in the 2500 block of North 93rd Street between midnight and 9:24 a.m. July 18. Multiple items including a credit card and five gift cards worth a total of $100 were taken from the wallet, which was left on the ground.

11A vehicle Currie Park Golf Course had its window smashed and items worth a total of $2,360 were taken from it between 4:15 and 5:45 p.m. July 18. A backpack, laptop computer, iPad, pants and a wallet were stolen.

12A man was arrested after he took a pair of glasses valued at $148 from Sunson Eye Specialists, 2300 N. Mayfair Road, at 4:18 p.m. July 18.

13A man had his cellphone worth $300 stolen while at Fox's Menswear at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 4:52 p.m. July 18. The man plugged his phone into an outlet behind a clothes display and tried covering the phone with clothes.

14A bicycle was taken from the 2400 block of North 65th Street at 7:58 p.m. July 18. Two women saw two boys take the bicycle worth $800 and ride off.

15Motorcycle parts were found in the 2400 block of North 74th Street at 6:13 a.m. July 19. The owner believed the parts had been taken from a bag attached to his motorcycle.

16A vehicle in the 6100 block of West Vliet Street had multiple items taken from it between 5:30 and 5:45 p.m. July 19. The items included two music players, a wallet, a driver's license and $200 cash, leading to a total loss of $1,035.

17A man was arrested for taking $676 of clothes from Boston Store, 2400 N. Mayfair Road, and for a felony probation violation at 8:03 p.m. July 19. He took six shirts, one pair of pants and a bottle of cologne. He has 12 previous retail theft convictions and one felony conviction of possession of a detection-shielding device.

18A vehicle's window was smashed and several items taken from it in the 2100 block of North 90th Street between 8:30 p.m. July 19 and 7:55 a.m. July 20. A GPS, owner's manual, vehicle registration and $5 cash were taken, amounting to an estimated loss of $295.

19A window was smashed and a guitar, pedals and tuners worth $670 were taken from it in the 9100 block of West North Avenue between 9 p.m. July 19 and 8 a.m. July 20.

20A car in the 2400 block of North 65th Street had two people rifle through it at 8:13 p.m. July 21. The two ran after the car alarm went off and didn't take anything.

21A girl was arrested for taking five t-shirts worth $168 from Macy's at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 2:26 p.m. July 22.

22A pair of sunglasses worth $230 were taken from a vehicle in the 4300 block of Raymir Place between 7:30 p.m. July 23 and 7:30 p.m. July 24.

23Jewelry, change, a credit card and a driver's license worth a total of $165 were taken from a vehicle in the 4400 block of Glenway Street between 8 p.m. July 23 and 8 a.m. July 24.

24Shotgun ammunition, change and a lighter worth a total of $55 were taken from two vehicles in the 4300 block of Raymir Place between 10 p.m. July 23 and 6:30 a.m. July 24.

25A bottle of prescription pills was taken from a vehicle at McDonald's, 6631 W. North Ave., between 4:45 and 5 p.m. July 26.

26A cellphone worth $50 was taken when a woman left it in the bathroom near the food court at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, between 6 and 6:30 p.m. July 26.

27License plates were removed from a vehicle at Mayfair Mall, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, between 5 and 7 p.m. July 27.

Police responded to at least five thefts of items valued at less than $100.

ASSAULT

28A man reported his ex-girlfriend bit him on the tricep in the parking lot of Mayfair Pediatrics, 3040 N. 117th St., at 4:45 p.m. July 19. They argued over who would see the daughter for the night when he said she bit him and swore at him. She admitted to biting him and was arrested for domestic violence. She said he was being forceful and had a history of domestic abuse, causing her to bite him out of reflex.

DRUG POSSESSION

29A man was arrested for drug and concealed weapon possession after he was pulled over for riding a bicycle without a headlight at Glenview Avenue and Bluemound Road at 1:27 a.m. July 19. He had a hatchet and marijuana pipe in his bag. He said he used the hatchet to clear away brush on bike trails.

30A man was arrested for drug possession after he was called in for trying to get into his truck while intoxicated at 64th and Loyd Streets at 6:58 p.m. July 26. He was found passed out and drunk behind the driver's seat.

31A man was arrested for drug possession after police searched him at Mayfair Mall, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 7:45 p.m. July 26. He had 28 bags containing 22.6 grams of marijuana and $693. He said he might sell the marijuana if someone asked, but didn't normally sell it. He is a convicted felon and registered sex offender and had been convicted with intent to sell marijuana before.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

32A man was arrested for drunken driving, first offense, after he was found sitting in a no parking zone in front of Rosebud Theater, 6733 W. North Ave., at 10:45 p.m. He refused a breath test; blood draw results are pending.

ACCIDENTS

33A woman was taken to Froedtert Hospital for head pains after the SUV she was driving in was rear-ended at Swan Boulevard and Watertown Plank Road at 5:32 p.m. July 18. The other driver thought she was going to continue through traffic, but she had a red light. The second driver was cited for inattentive driving.

VANDALISM

34A fence post was taken from a yard in the 1900 block of north 68th Street between 8:30 p.m. July 18 and noon July 19. Total damage is estimated at $150.

35A vehicle's window was smashed after someone threw a cap from a city of Wauwatosa water line through it between 8:30 and 11:30 p.m. July 19. Total loss is estimated at $500.

36A youth was arrested for setting fire to playground equipment at Washington Elementary, 2166 N. 68th St., at 12:36 a.m. July 20. He and three friends snuck out of a window. The boys said they used rubbing alcohol and lighter fluid to melt holes in three slides. Their parents agreed to help reimburse the school district for the damage.

37A car was scratched in the 11100 block of West Meinecke Avenue between 6 p.m. July 22 and 7:40 a.m. July 23. The vehicle's owner suspects an ex-roommate to have scratched the car after being kicked out. Total loss is estimated at $1,000.

38A vehicle's tire was slashed in the 1800 block of North 70th Street between 10 p.m. July 24 and 9 a.m. July 25. Total damage is estimated at $200.

A Wauwatosa woman called police after her wallet had been taken and cards used fraudulently in three purchases worth $115 between 11:45 a.m. and 11 p.m. July 19. The purse was taken from West Allis.
