Waukesha police arrested a 41-year-old Waukesha man after they allegedly discovered he had several, illegal pornographic images on his computer and that he had kissed his neighbor's 16-year-old daughter.

Robert Stryker was charged on Monday, Sept. 17, in Waukesha County Circuit Court with five counts of child porn possession.

Each charges carries a maximum penalty of up to 25 years in prison and $100,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, police were alerted on Aug. 27 to some suspicious behavior involving Stryker after they were told by a neighbor that Stryker had kissed the neighbor's teenage daughter a few days earlier.

The girl confirmed that Stryker kissed her and that she was "shocked" by it, but said that he apologized soon after and she hadn't seen or spoken to him since, according to the complaint.

Stryker's wife, who filed for divorce in July, then told police in the complaint that her husband had previously admitted to her that he had a child pornography addiction and was trying to seek help for it.

She said he kept a personal laptop that only he used and that, during the past two years, he had begun to spend to hours alone in their basement and had covered the basement windows with pillows so no one could see down into the room from outside the house, according to the complaint.

On Sept. 14, officers executed a search warrant at the residence where Stryker had been staying with a friend (while he and his wife settled the divorce) and recovered Stryker's personal laptop.

On it a Waukesha detective reportedly found dozens of pornographic images, an IP address encryption program and some file erasing software.

Court records indicate that, on Sept. 16, Stryker paid his $20,000 cash bail and was released from police custody.

His next hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 25.
