Waukesha County's Public Health Division will offer childhood and adult immunization clinics at a variety of times and locations throughout the community.
Immunization clinics with no appointment needed will be offered in Waukesha from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, Public Health Division, 514 Riverview Ave.
Children can receive immunizations for an $8 fee, which may be waived. Adult vaccine fees range in cost from $8 to $220 and will not be waived. Medicaid, cash, or checks are accepted for payment.
Other services offered at the immunization clinics include tuberculosis skin tests for people ages one and older. TB skin tests require a follow-up visit within 48 to 72 hours to the public health division located at 514 Riverview Avenue, Waukesha. Lead screenings for children 1 to 5 years of age is also available.
Health officials said there are some important vaccination guidelines parents should know:
· If your child is insured, please make an appointment with your primary care provider for vaccinations.
· If your child is Vaccines for Children (VFC) eligible, you can continue to visit the local health department for vaccinations.
· Those eligible for VFC are children through 18 years of age who are eligible or enrolled in Medicaid, uninsured, American Indian or Alaska native, or underinsured (defined as having health insurance, but the coverage does not include all vaccines or only covers selected vaccines).
All immunization records must be brought to each clinic, and a parent or legal guardian must sign for children being immunized
