Police Report: Sept. 19

1 Theft of a Genie Articulating Boom Lift Model owned by Fabco Rentals was reported at 11:07 a.m. Sept. 9 from 2222 Michigan Ave.

2 Vehicle registration stickers were reported stolen from vehicles at 917 Harding Ave. at 11:04 a.m. Sept. 9.

3 Graffiti was reported around 9:45 a.m. Sept. 9 on the road in the 500 block of East Main Street and on the side of a building at 529 E. Main St.

4 Landscaping trailers at 2121 S. West Ave. were burglarized overnight on Sept. 8. A mower and other items were reported missing.

5 Burglary of a home at 2501 Summit Ave. was reported at 8:19 p.m. Sept. 11. Reported missing were John Deere articles.

6 Police responded to a call of a man hitting cars with a baseball bat at 1512 Big Bend Road at 7:31 p.m. Sept. 11. The caller said the man was off his medication and hit his car and was threatening to hit others.

7 A caller at 1151 Sunset Drive reported their car windshield smashed. They said it happened overnight on Sept. 10 when their vehicle was parked in a driveway.

8 Theft from several lockers at Westwood Fitness, 2900 Golf Road, were reported Sept. 11. One caller said their locked locker was entered between 3:50 and 4:30 p.m. and their credit cards and driver's license were taken out of their wallet.

9 Police responded to a call of intoxicate driver at 461 W. Sunset Drive at 8:52 p.m. Sept. 15. The caller said the man almost hit a pole coming into the gas station and that the man smelled intoxicated.

10 A minivan struck a traffic light at East Moreland Boulevard and Springdale Road at 3:47 p.m. Sept. 15. The light was knocked down and wires were exposed. No injuries were reported.

11 Police advised residents on fireworks after a large display was reported at 3003 Banning Way at 8:09 p.m. Sept. 14. They were given an option to destroy the fireworks with water or receive a citation. The resident agreed to destroy the fireworks and apologized. Police said a return visit would result in a citation.

12 A resident at 357 W. Broadway reported fraud at 5:23 p.m. Sept. 14. They said someone claiming to be from We Energies called them and told them to go to Walmart and buy a gift card and call back with the pin number to avoid having their power cut off.

13 Library security called police Sept. 14 after they found a bag they thought might contain drugs in a cabinet at the library, 321 Wisconsin Ave. Police tested the bad and determined it was most likely salt.

14 A woman reported theft of more than $200 from her purse while she was working at 317 N. Grand Ave.

15 Burglary was reported at 5:44 a.m. Sept. 14 at 327 W. Wabash Ave. The caller said their garage was entered and copper tubing was taken.

16 Theft of golf clubs from a vehicle at 325 Sentinel Drive was reported at 3:12 p.m. Sept. 13.

17 A motorcyclist was airlifted by Flight for Life after an accident with a car at Genesee and Sunset at 9:53 a.m. Sept. 13.

18 A resident in an apartment in the 400 block of West Dunbar Avenue called police at 10:52 p.m. Sept. 16 to say she was being gassed out and is afraid for her cats. The caller did not answer the door when police arrived and a neighbor did not think there was an emergency.

19 A caller at 400 Summit Ave. called police at 6:26 p.m. Sept. 16 to report a gas runoff. They said they saw a woman in a maroon car remove her rear license plate, go to the Speedway and pumped gas without paying.

20 The door was kicked in and items taken from a home at 1424 Summit Ave. The owner's son called police at 11:09 a.m. Sept. 16 to report the crime.

21 An accident with injuries occurred at West St. Paul Avenue and Fuller Street around 10:43 a.m. Sept. 16. Two vehicles were involved, one person suffered a laceration to their head.

22 Laptops were reported stolen from a house at 115 Swartz Court at 9:01 a.m. Sept. 16. The caller said the theft possibly occurred overnight.
