Police Report: Nov. 7

1 A woman at 913 Eales Ave. called police at 2:01 a.m. Oct. 30 to report burglary. She claimed a man named DJ walked in to her house through an unlocked door and stole her cell phone and slashed her air mattress.

2 A resident at 234 Cutler St. called police at 1:02 a.m. Oct. 30 to report their tire was slashed sometime between 9 p.m. and midnight. They said it happened in the municipal lot across from their address. They suspect their neighbor citing recent issues.

3 Someone called police at 11:15 a.m. Oct. 29 to report a suspicious "clicker" on a park bench at Buchner Park, 231 Oakland Ave. Police reported it was a garage door opener.

4 Theft of batteries out of a truck at 1701 Airport Road was reported at 7:18 a.m. Oct. 29.

5 A caller alerted police to a suspicious device in the 100 block of S. Grand Ave. at 3:54 p.m. Oct. 30. The caller said it is a car battery with wires running into a plastic gallon container. They said their is liquid in the container and metal on top of it. They said a woman was sitting in a chair next to the device. When police located the woman and the device they discovered it was an air quality experiment being done by Carroll University students.

6 Theft of an equipment trailer from 320 E. Broadway was reported at 10:16 a.m. Oct. 30. The caller said it occurred over the last two days.

7 Theft of a battery from a Payne and Dolan truck at 1500 Highway 164 was reported at 6:43 a.m. Oct. 30. The caller said several other batteries have been stolen from construction equipment.

8 A driver was arrested for drunken driving following an accident at Collins Street and East St. Paul Avenue at 1:08 a.m. Nov. 1 according to the police dispatch log. In the log report it appears the driver struck a tree and the accident also took down a street light. Police located and arrested the driver after they allegedly attempted to flee on foot.

9 Police responded to another accident with injury at 12:36 a.m. at 2132 Saratoga Road where the driver fled on foot. Police were able to catch up with the man who was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The dispatch log does not indicate if the man was under the influence.

10 An apartment at 2112 Macarthur Road was reported burglarized at 8:31 p.m. Oct. 31.

11 A caller at 246 S. Greenfield Ave. called police after their bowl of pretzels set out for trick-or-treaters was taken around 5 p.m. Oct. 31. The caller said she set out a bowl of pretzels and then went inside to take a shower. When she returned the bowl, valued at $30, was gone.

12 Theft of a wallet while it was in a purse in a shopping cart at Woodman's, 1600 E. Main St., was reported at 10:09 a.m. Oct. 31.

13 A window was broken at 2825 N. Burton Court sometime during the day on Nov. 3.

14 Graffiti was reported at Moorewood Park, 616 Rempe Drive, on Nov. 3. The caller said profanities were spray painted on the playground equipment.

15 A sign at 380 W. Main St. was reported vandalized sometime overnight Nov. 2.

16 Burglary was reported at 1544 Roxbury Way #105 at 1:40 p.m. Nov. 2. The caller said someone entered her home, but she's not sure when it happened. The woman said she found her purse under her bed and muddy prints in the bedroom. She also reported her screen was cut. The screen was also reported cut at 1544 Roxbury #103. A prowler was reported in this area overnight on Nov. 1.

17 On Nov. 1, around 10:50 p.m. a resident at 1522 Roxbury Way called police after seeing a man trying to break into their window. The man ran off toward Moreland Boulevard after residents yelled at him. A woman at the home said she saw a flashlight and heard a noise in the bushes outside the window.

18 A cell phone and wallet were taken from a shopping cart at 2130 Moreland Blvd. Someone later found the items at a bus stop and returned them. Nothing was missing according to the report.

19 A leaf blower was reported stolen from 1708 Oakdale Drive at 8:22 a.m. Nov. 1.

20 The window of a car parked at 1812 S. Grand Ave. was reported broken at 12:23 a.m. Nov. 5. The caller said it must have occurred within the last hour.

21 The window of a building at 521 Biddle St. was reported broken on Nov. 4. The caller said the break-in must have occurred sometime over the weekend. The caller said there have been similar attempted break-ins at the building.

22 A gas station attendant at Mobil, 1808 Silvernail Road, called police at 7:39 a.m. Nov. 4 about continued gas runoffs by a particular car. The caller gave police a description of the vehicle and asked police to check on it.
