Police Report: Sept. 26

1 A resident at 1130 Phoenix Drive called police at 12:11 a.m. Sept. 18 after hearing banging on their garage door and windows. They said they weren't sure what it was at first and were scared deciding to call police. The police call log indicates this may be similar to other attempted burglaries in the area where a burglar pounds on doors and windows to see if anyone is home. Police did not locate anyone suspicious.

2 A resident at 1413 E. Wabash Ave. called police at 8:10 p.m. Sept. 17 after seeing two people on their front porch messing with one of their lawn statues. The caller said the one of the lawn statues was taken and they last saw the two subjects running toward Golden Gate restaurant after they chased them.

3 A high school visiting sports team reported items stolen from the locker room at 401 E. Roberta Ave. at 10:31 p.m. Sept. 17.

4 The owner of a business at 426 W. Sunset Drive called police at 9:49 a.m. Sept. 17 to report theft of a wood pallet. The callers aid sometime overnight for the past two to three weeks someone has been taking wood pallets from his business. He said he's never reported it to police, but at $3 a pallet, he estimates 200 pallets, worth $600, have been taken over a period of time.

5 Police responded to a burglary in progress at 2015 Saratoga Road at 1:49 a.m. Sept. 19. The owner of the house chased a male dressed in black out of his house. He said the man may have gained access to the home from a garage door opener they got out of an unlocked vehicle.

6 Two unlocked vehicles at 828 N. Greenfield Ave. were entered overnight on Sept. 18. The owner of the vehicles said $2 in change was missing and they didn't want to file a report but wanted information documented.

7 A bike was reported stolen at 7:49 p.m. Sept. 19 from an underground parking garage at 132 Cambridge Ave.

8 Burglary was reported at 6:49 a.m. Sept. 19 at 1227 Phoenix Drive. The caller said someone broke in the home through the garage door but did not get into the main part of the house.

9 A bus driver in the area of Brook Street and East St. Paul Avenue called police at 6:17 p.m. Sept. 22 to report suspicious activity. The bus driver said five people were recording the buses and the driver was concerned about their intentions. Police met with the people taping the buses who said they were shooting a music video and had permission from someone at Metro Bus.

10 A hotel guest at, Country Springs, 2810 Golf Road, called police at 11:55 a.m. Sept. 22 to report burglary. The caller said they left to have breakfast and when they returned a purse was missing. They said maintenance had been in the room and when they contacted hotel staff, they were advised there was nothing they could do.

11 Police were called to unplug a curling iron at 947 Dana Lane at 10:23 a.m. Sept. 22. The caller said they left for the airport for a week-long trip and realized they forgot to unplug their curling iron and were hoping police could help. Police reported the curling iron was successfully unplugged.

12 Arson was reported at 415 Harvey Ave. at 8:54 p.m. Sept. 21. The caller said they smelled something burning and discovered a picnic table on fire.

13 Two teens on their way to homecoming made an unexpected stop when they were pulled over for drag racing. Waukesha County Sheriff's deputies pulled the teens over in the area of East Sunset Drive and Highway 164 at about 5:38 p.m. Sept. 21. The teens admitted to speeding and when asked why they were dressed as if they were going to a wedding said they were on their way to homecoming. Both drivers received citations.

14 A caller at 426 W. Sunset Drive reported theft at 2:47 p.m. Sept. 21. Missing was a large convection oven left outside. The caller also reported theft of wood pallets.

15 A mailbox at 850 Martin St. was broken into at 11:17 a.m. Sept. 21. The caller said items were taken.

16 A mailbox at 1825 Fox River Parkway was reported stolen at 9:18 a.m. Sept. 21.

17 Police were called about a suspicious person at 1220 W. Sunset Drive at 8:46 p.m. Sept. 23. The caller said the man was laying down next to their car with a plastic bag and a large butcher knife. They said he got up and was last seen walking toward CVS. Police found the man who had fake knives for Halloween and said he laid down because he wanted to rest.

18 An open garage was entered at 1527 Butler Drive Sept. 23 and a duffle bag with an iPad was taken.

19 Burglary was reported at 7:20 p.m. Sept. 23 at 2406 Springdale Road #212. The caller said sometime between Friday and Saturday tools valued at $3,500 were taken from a storage unit.

20 Two sub woofers and an amplifier were reported stolen at 8:02 p.m. Sept. 23 from a basement at 2414 Springdale Road #204.

21 A resident at 1727 Oakdale Drive called police at 4:59 p.m. Sept. 23 to report burglary. The man said when he got home he noticed his house had been broken into. Missing are three handguns and jewelry. The man said it appears access was gained through a window.

22 Police were called to the library, 321 Wisconsin Ave. at 3:25 p.m. Sept. 23 on a report of a man wearing a mask and telling people he wants to change their diaper. Staff felt the man was on something and wanted him removed. Police advised the man on his unusual behavior and that wearing masks in public will draw attention. The man was told if he returned that day he would be arrested for trespassing.

23 Two teens were cited after breaking windows at 222 Maple Ave. around 3 p.m. Sept. 23.

24 A resident at 2401 Emslie Drive reported Sept. 23 that an imitation camera attached to her home was taken. She said grass was damaged in her yard and two weeks ago solar lights were taken out of the ground and damaged.
