Recycle motor oil

Waukesha County has 18 municipal dropoff sites so residents can recycle waste motor oil and oil filters.

Residents changing their own oil are required to properly dispose of waste oil under Wisconsin state law.

The new law was passed to promote oil recycling and protect the environment.

In 2012, Waukesha County residents saved more than 8,000 gallons of waste oil and 10.1 tons of oil filters from going into landfills through recycling.

For listings of the dropoff locations, visit www.waukeshacounty.gov/recycling and click on Automotive from the Product Disposal menu.
