Now You Know: Are the Lowell Park toboggan runs open to the public?

Published on: 2/19/2014

The two toboggan runs at Lowell Park are open to the public from noon to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday during the winter season, said Pat Grulke, recreation services manager for the city of Waukesha's Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department.

A daily chute pass is available for $9 per day if you own your own toboggan. If you need to rent a toboggan, a pass is available for $10 an hour, Grulke said.

A few things to note before heading to the runs: It's cash only, riders must be 48 inches or taller, and children younger than 11 must be accompanied by an adult. There's also a waiver, which a parent or guardian must sign for anyone younger than 18 before hitting the runs.

Lowell Park's toboggan runs can also be rented for parties, Grulke said. For more information on hosting a toboggan party, visit www.ci.waukesha.wi.us/tobrun. Visitors may use the roboggan runs and an unsupervised public skating rink at Lowell park as long as the weather allows, Grulke said.
