Longtime Hebron House of Hospitality Inc. executive director and founder Bernie Juno retired from her position this week.
Juno has been with the Hebron House of Hospitality, the largest nonprofit provider of services to the homeless men, women and children in Waukesha County, for more than 30 years.
Her retirement will be taken in two parts, she said.
As of Tuesday, Juno has taken on a new transitional role as the Hebron House of Hospitality strategic projects consultant. The position is part time.
The second phase will be a full time retirement with a date to be determined.
In Juno's place, Erika Trawitzki, Hebron's director of operations, has assumed the day-to-day responsibilities of all administrative and operational duties and the oversight of staffing.
In Juno's new consulting role, she will assist the Hebron House Board in developing a long term strategic fundraising plan and other special projects.
"My role and expertise as strategic projects consultant during this transition is an extremely important factor in helping the agency transition from myself as the founder and executive director to new leadership for the future," Juno said in a letter to the Hebron House Board of Directors and Hebron House's staff.
The mission of the Hebron House is to provide temporary shelter to individuals and families experiencing homelessness as well as support services.
