Police Report: Oct. 3

1 Burglary of a storage locker in a basement at 2406 Springdale Road #106 was reported at 2:41 p.m. Sept. 24. The caller said a lock was cut off the storage unit and a backpack with collector coins was taken.

2 Aluminum squares were reported stolen from 1251 Sentry Drive at 12:26 p.m. Sept. 24.

3 Sheds were damaged and burglarized at 2400 Springdale Road. Police were called about the damage and burglary at 9:59 a.m. Sept. 24.

4 Two batteries were reported stolen from vehicles at 426 W. Sunset Drive at 7:36 a.m. Sept. 25.

5 A caller reported a group of about 10 juveniles egging houses in the area of 4227 Oakmont Trail at 12:55 a.m. Sept. 27. When police spoke with a homeowner they said they teens were also toiletpapering a house; probably part of a homecoming prank. The resident said they didn't want a complaint, but wanted the kids to return the next day to clean the yard.

6 A locked storage unit in a basement at 2408 Springdale Road #201 was entered and rims were reported taken on Sept. 26.

7 A gun was reported stolen from a car at 4:21 p.m. Sept. 26. The caller told police she left her loaded Ruger LCP .380 in the center console of their car when they took it in for service at 2145 E. Moreland Blvd. The caller said when their husband picked up the vehicle, thegun was missing.

8 Theft was reported Sept. 26 from a storage unit in a basement at 519 Glenwood Drive #3. The caller said it was entered and items taken sometime within the last two months.

9 A caller at 1535 E. Moreland Blvd. called police at 1:32 p.m. Sept. 26 reported a bag of "crack" was found inside the store. The caller said a small ziplock bag with a white powdery substance was found near checkout.

10 A caller at 109 N. Dunbar Ave. contacted police at 11:58 a.m. Sept. 26 to report loosened lug nuts on their car and a sliced boot left under the car. The caller said property damage has been an ongoing problem as their house was egged earlier this summer.

11 Police were called about a man laying on the ground at a bus stop at Racine and College Avenue at 9:51 a.m. Sept. 26. When police arrived and found the man he said he felt it was a nice day to take a nap in the sunshine due to him being "under the weather" from last night.

12 Police were dispatched to a robbery in process at 114 E. Broadway at 4:12 a.m. Sept. 30. A man wearing a gray hoodie took off with money from the cash register. The employee said the man got the money out of the register while they were sweeping.

13 A woman at 921 Friedman Drive called police at 2:37 a.m. to report their purse, cellphone and keys were taken while they were at the bar.

14 Two bicycles were reported stolen from 2010 Madera St. at 8:27 p.m. Sept. 28. The owner of the bikes said two men entered his open grage door and took the bikes.

15 Patio furniture at 117 S. West Ave. was reported stolen at 9:55 a.m. Sept. 28. The caller said the theft ocurred sometime between Sept. 26 and 28.

16 Five new vans at Boucher, 1421 E. Moreland Blvd., were reported damaged and spare tires taken at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 27.

17 Theft of a wallet from an unlocked vehicle at 2200 W. St. Paul Ave. was reported at 1:52 p.m. Sept. 27.

18 A window air conditioner and TV monitor were reported stolen from a front porch at 128 Hinman Ave. overnight on Sept. 26.

19 Projection bulbs and toner cartridges were reported stolen from a locked storage room at 1500 N. University Drive at 1:09 p.m. Sept. 27.
