Police Report: Aug. 8

1 A resident at 1522 Roberta Ave. called police at 1:15 a.m. July 31 to report an intoxicated woman defecated in their yard. The woman was gone when police arrived.

2 An employee at Best Western, 2840 Grandview Blvd., called police at 9:53 p.m. July 30 requesting a naked man in the hot tub be removed. Police contacted the man who was staying at the hotel. He admitted to being nude in the hot tub. He was advised on his behavior and allowed to stay at the hotel.

3 A resident at 1120 Phoenix Drive asked for extra police checks after their house was egged on July 29.

4 A gas grill and six-foot ladder were reported stolen from 511 E. North St. July 31.

5 "A couple of dollars" were reported taken from a vehicle at 116 Fountain Ave. overnight on July 30. The caller said they just wanted police to be aware there are people going through cars in the area.

6 A caller at 206 W. Newhall Ave. called police July 31 to report a camera and change missing from his unlocked car.

7 An employee at 2830 Grandview Blvd. called police at 2:45 p.m. July 31 to report $160 missing from a deposit. The caller said they captured on video what they believe to be an ex employee taking the money.

8 A caller at 1803 Shepherd Court called police at 11:12 a.m. July 31 to report their grandfather has mushrooms, marijuana and possibly LSD in the home where they both reside. The caller said the man is going to a Grateful Dead concert and will be taking the drugs with him to sell. Police arrived, but could not enter without the owner's consent and no one answered the door.

9 Two credit cards were reported stolen after two vehicles were entered at 214 Newhall Ave. sometime overnight on July 30.

10 A man at 111 Wilmont Drive called police at 5:29 p.m. Aug. 4 saying a man just came up to him and demanded money. The caller said the man came up to him in a parking lot demanding money and when the caller told him to leave the man attacked him jumping on him and punching him. The caller said the man took off in another car after he called police.

11 Criminal damage to property was reported at 1118 Perkins Ave. at 3:49 p.m. The caller said their fence was spray painted.

12 A caller at 416 Jackson Ave. reported Aug. 4 that someone used a BB gun or shotgun to fire a large hole in their apartment window. They said it happened sometime in the past week.

13 A resident at 2402 Springdale Road called police at 10:33 a.m. Aug. 3 to report sometime over the last two days a wood splitter was stolen from their yard.

14 A bike was reported stolen on July 31 from 349 Coolidge Ave.

15 A caller at 707 W. Coolidge Ave. reported a suspicious person after seeing a female lie down under a tree. The caller said she felt it was suspicious because "people just don't lie down under a tree in the middle of nowhere." The woman was gone from the tree when police arrived.

16 Three garden lanterns were reported stolen on Aug. 2 from 957 Oakland Ave.

17 Residents in the 100 block of East Rivera Drive called police around 4 a.m. Aug. 6 after seeing two people dressed in black going through vehicles in the area. Police were unable to find subjects, but one resident did report their unlocked vehicle was gone through with the door left open. They said there were valuables left in the car indicating possibly the suspects were interrupted.

18 A house fire was reported at 2111 Kensington Drive at 12:12 a.m. Aug. 6. Residents reported smoke in the hallway and downstairs for at least an hour. Police discovered burned food in an apartment.

19 A caller said their two sons were playing basketball at the Lowell Elementary School playground, 140 N. Grandview Blvd., when two to three men pulled up in a vehicle, got out and smashed her son's cellphone and then took off. The woman said her sons do not know the men.

20 A laptop was reported stolen at 10:18 a.m. Aug. 5 from an unlocked vehicle at 504 Shoshone Drive.

21 A caller at 843 W. College Ave. reported burglary of the building at 7:05 a.m. Aug. 5. They said computers are missing, lockers were opened and items were strewn about the business. The caller thinks the burglary happened over the weekend.

22 An iPod and money were reported taken at 7:01 a.m. Aug. 5 from an unlocked vehicle at 129 Hinman Ave.
