Waukesha man sentenced to prison after embezzlement

Dec. 13, 2012 10:10 a.m. | A Waukesha man was sentenced to nearly two years in prison on counts of wire fraud and filing a false tax return after embezzling more than $800,000 from his former employer, Heim Manufacturing Corp. in Sussex.

U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman sentenced John Losee to 21 months in prison Wednesday and also gave him four years of probation.

Losee originally ran JFL Manufacturing, a machine parts company. The firm failed and was taken over by a creditor, and it became Heim, where Losee worked. As the general manager, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the machine parts manufacturer.

Losee created a phony vendor and arranged for 220 checks to be written to the fake vendor, according to court documents. The money went into Losee's account. He failed to pay $165,000 in taxes from 2003 to 2009.

A lawsuit filed by Heim against Losee is pending in Milwaukee County court.
