Recall group submits petitions against Waukesha alderman
Waukesha - A citizens group has filed petitions signed by 424 people, apparently enough to force a recall of Waukesha's 7th District Ald. Peggy Bull.
City Clerk-Treasurer Tom Neill said the group, Concerned Citizens of District 7, needs 346 signatures, or 25% of the vote cast for governor in the last election in Bull's district, to require a recall election.
Bull has 10 days to challenge the sufficiency of the petitions and Neill has 30 days to determine their sufficiency. If he does so, a recall election would be held on a Tuesday about six weeks later.
Bull has nine months left on her current three-year term.
Officers listed for the recall committee, Frank Greuel and Wayne Dahnke, stated in the recall petitions that Bull "is not adequately or appropriately representing the interest or view of her constituents."
Bull said the constituents are displeased because a transitional living center for six sex offenders was established in her neighborhood and because of flooding that has resulted in her district since construction started on the nearby Wal-Mart Center along Highway 164.
