Waukesha registered sex offender arrested after offering girls alcohol
Big Bend - A 21-year-old Waukesha man who is a registered sex offender has been arrested after he allegedly offered to buy four 16-year-old girls alcohol, Big Bend Police Chief Michael J. Hartert said.
The man had been stopped by a Waukesha County sheriff's deputy about 7:50 p.m. Friday for a vehicle equipment violation and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated.
During the traffic stop, the four girls approached a Big Bend police officer who was assisting the deputy and told the officer that the man approached them while they were in a store at Highways 164 and L and offered to buy them liquor, Hartert said in a news release.
The girls declined and left the Dollar Store Plus. They told the officer that the man then drove by them several times, Hartert said.
Police said the man is on probation and he is being held in jail on a probation violation. Hartert said police will seek to have the man charged with four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
