Rogers Memorial Hospital will donate an extra $4,000 to the United Way in Waukesha County to help fix a shortfall in the United Way's annual fund drive that could result in program funding cuts.

Rogers Memorial Hospital is the second corporation to step up to a challenge issued by Quad/Graphics' The Windhover Foundation to come to nonprofits' aid.

United Way in Waukesha County said a projected $475,000 revenue shortfall following its annual campaign would require across-the-board funding cuts of 8% to 10% to participating programs.

The Windhover Foundation pledged to donate $275,000 with a challenge to the community to raise the remaining $200,000.

ProHealth Care said it would donate $100,000, and the United Way has received a total of $3,000 from county residents. Rogers Memorial Hospital will donate $4,000 above the contributions its employees pledged during the fall campaign.

President and CEO David Moulthrop said nonprofits need more funding to meet increased demand for services. "Without additional financial support to United Way, these circumstances could cause a one-two punch for agencies," Moulthrop said.

Donations can be made to United Way in Waukesha County through The Windhover Foundation Challenge at Waukesha State Bank and online at www.UnitedWayWaukesha.org.
