Proceedings inside the Waukesha County Courthouse, 515 W. Moreland Blvd, were temporarily suspended this morning due to a power outage in the surrounding area.

Staff there said the courthouse and administrative buildings would be closed to the public until Wednesday afternoon, July 27. A news release said those buildings would reopen around 11:30 a.m. and that court calendars would resume at 1:30 p.m.

It was not immediately clear what caused the outage, however lights were on inside the courthouse and administrative buildings when a reporter stopped by around 11:15 a.m.

A post on the courthouse's Facebook page said jail visitation is also on hold until power is restored, but county staff remains available to take public phone calls.

The Juvenile Center has power and remains open, according to the post. Juvenile visitation, court hours or other business at the center were not affected.
