Waukesha police report: July 21, 2016 issue

1A man reportedly flashed his genitals to staff at the Waukesha Women's Center around 4:43 p.m. July 7 in the 500 block of North East Avenue. A police report said the man, who was uncooperative with officers when they found him, was arrested.

2A 25-year-old man was reportedly carrying a bat and challenging motorists with it while standing in the street around 10:54 p.m. July 7 near Oakdale and School drives. According to a police report, the man did not hit any cars with the bat but was trying to.

3Police helped a man find his 15-year-old daughter and return her home after a brief confrontation between the two around 9:01 p.m. July 8 in the 100 block of Arcadian Avenue. The girl was reportedly late coming home from a friend's apartment that her parents do not want her visiting. According to an incident report, the girl was disorderly and uncooperative but ultimately left with her parents.

4An anonymous caller reported a reckless driver who was supposedly traveling 15 mph below the posted speed limit around 10:23 p.m. July 8 near Meadowbrook Road and Summit Avenue. A police report did not indicate whether officers were able to find the slow-moving vehicle.

5Emergency personnel had to extinguish a vehicle fire around 12:16 p.m. July 9 next to the Habitat for Humanity Restore, 2120 E. Moreland Blvd. According to an incident report, the fire was raging in an empty truck about 20 feet away from the store. The fire department declined to investigate the blaze, the report said.

6A couple was caught having sex in the back of a car in the 800 block of John Street around 2:26 a.m. July 10. According to a police report, both the man and the woman were 'strongly advised on their behavior and sent indoors for the evening.'

7An anonymous caller reported what appeared to be an intoxicated driver who had been swerving between lanes and crashed his car into a curb before pulling into a parking lot around 6:24 p.m. July 10 near Meadow Lane and North Grandview Boulevard. An incident report does not indicate whether the driver was cited or criminally charged.

8A woman called police to report that her family's dog was 'coming after her because she was on her period' around 2:06 a.m. July 11 in the 200 block of West Wabash Avenue. According to a police report, the woman as a result asked officers for a ride to her friend's house.

9Emergency personnel had to extricate one person from a car following a two-vehicle accident around 2:50 p.m. July 11 near Saylesville Road and Highway 59. According to an incident report, airbags in both vehicles deployed but no one was injured in the crash.

10A house in the 700 block of West College Avenue was broken into and ransacked prior to 6:57 p.m. July 11. According to a police report, someone kicked in the back door and rifled through possessions. The report did not indicate whether police had any suspects or leads.

11An anonymous caller reported fix or six juveniles were throwing and trying to kick various things at passing cars around 9:39 p.m. July 11 in the 300 block of Hine Avenue. According to a police report, the juveniles were gone when police arrived.

12A 17-year-old girl reportedly stabbed herself in the stomach around 2:19 p.m. July 12 at a home in the 300 block of Lemira Avenue. A police report said the girl, seemingly had no motive, ran outside afterward. She was with her family when police arrived and the self-inflicted wound was very small and not bleeding, the report said.

13An anonymous caller reported there was a large group of teenagers playing Pokemon Go and smoking marijuana around 8:38 p.m. July 12 near Corrina Boulevard and North Barstow Street. According to a police report, there were 30 to 40 juveniles in that area when police arrived, but the report did not indicate whether they were breaking any laws.

14A landlord in the 1400 block of Racine Avenue reportedly walked in on a woman while she and her 11/2-year-old daughter were bathing around 10:04 p.m. July 12. The landlord walked unannounced into the woman's apartment then her bathroom to tell her about a plumbing issue, and stared at her for about 10 seconds while she was in the bathtub before looking away, a police report said. The woman was looking for advice on ending her lease.

15Police took a report of a child sex assault around 9:41 a.m. July 13 at a home in the 2200 block of Patrick Lane. According to a police report, a 26-year-old assaulted a 13-year-old last July. No additional information was immediately available.

16Several callers reported getting visits from solicitors wearing 'NOW Communications' shirts and asking about residents' cable subscriptions and providers. Police responded to one call around 12:49 p.m. July 13 in the 2400 block of Kestrel Lane and found the solicitor did not have a valid license.

17Police arrested a man who drove his car through a fence and crashed it into a tree near Gander Mountain, 2440 E. Moreland Blvd., then fled on foot around 2:21 p.m. July 13. According to a police report, the man appeared intoxicated and was found eating a hamburger in a nearby McDonald's.

18Two men got into a fist fight outside their cars in a McDonald's drive-thru lane, 1425 S. West Ave., after one man complained the other was not moving quickly enough through the line around 8:23 a.m. July 14. According to a police report, one of the men told police he was bleeding as a result of the fight but did not need an ambulance.

19A woman reported her 9-year-old daughter was briefly followed by a strange man around 11:05 a.m. July 14 in the 1900 block of Cascade Drive. A police report said the man did not say or do anything to the girl and was gone when the girl ran back home.

20A resident in the 2400 block of Springdale Road reportedly fired a gun by accident and sent a bullet into a neighboring apartment. The neighbor found the bullet and spoke to police around 11:29 a.m. July 15. The resident who accidentally fired the gun was cited, a police report said.
