Waukesha police report: July 7, 2016 issue

1An unidentified person or persons started a fire in a public bathroom in the 600 block of North Hartwell Avenue. Police took pictures of the damage around 8:12 a.m. June 25. No suspects or leads were mentioned in the report.

2A man was bleeding from the back of his head following a collision between and car and bicycle around 8:34 a.m. June 25 near the post office, 300 E. Broadway St. The report did not specify whether the injured man was riding the bike or driving the car.

3A Waukesha man threatened to hurt his former landlord if the landlord didn't return the man's security deposit three months after the man moved out. The landlord told police the man gestured to the landlord with his middle finger then shouted at him from his car around 9:58 a.m. June 25 outside a home in the 100 block of Central Avenue.

4A woman locked herself and her boyfriend in a room inside a Cambridge Avenue apartment after the man reportedly grabbed a butcher knife and threatened to use it against someone. According to a police report, officers arrived at the apartment in the 100 block of Cambridge around 10:41 a.m. June 25. There were children in the home, the report said, and the man eventually put the knife back.

5Police caught a couple having sex in broad daylight by the baseball field near St. Mary's Catholic School, 520 E. Hartwell Ave. According to a police report, an anonymous caller reported the incident around 11:42 a.m. June 25. Officers found the couple near the third base line, the report said.

6 A 30-year-old man was rushed to the hospital for a 'substantial head injury' around 2:25 a.m. June 26, an injury he possibly sustained in a fight near Bosco's Social Club, 260 W. Main St. A police report said had a serious cut on his head, but he did not wish to make a complaint.

7A lightning strike caused a fire at a home in the 1800 block of Fox River Parkway around 6:38 a.m. June 26. According to an incident report, lightning struck a tree branch that fell on the roof of the house and eventually started the attic on fire. No one was injured and the fire was under control in just over an hour, the report said.

8A person was supposedly laying across the train tracks near La Casa de Esperanza, 410 Arcadian Ave., around 1:01 p.m. June 26. Police were unable to pinpoint an exact location of the person, but fire department personnel did not find anyone on or near the tracks there after searching the area, a police report said.

9A man removed a sign that said 'free candy inside' from his camper June 26 after police told him an anonymous caller reported the sign as suspicious. The man, a resident in the 1800 block of Michael Drive, said his boss had taped up the sign — that included an arrow pointing toward the back of the camper — as a joke and the man left it up.

10A woman told police her son used a crowbar to smash her car around 10:37 p.m. June 26 at a home in the 1500 block of Irving Place. According to a police report, the woman and her son got into an argument that ended when the man poured beer on his mother, then went outside and damaged her car. He was not home when police arrived.

11A man was taken to the emergency room by a stranger after the man crashed a work van into a tree on private property and injured his head around 9:21 a.m. June 26 in the 2100 block of Pewaukee Road. According to the police report, the man had a bloody nose.

12A woman told police her phone had been 'hacked' and some unidentified people were 'listening in on all her conversations' around 9:23 a.m. June 26 at the Waukesha Police Station, 1901 Delafield St. According to an incident report, she told officers she was going to get her phone repaired.

13A highly intoxicated man caused a scene at the Waukesha Public Library, 321 W. Wisconsin Ave., around 3:27 p.m. June 27 and refused to leave when asked. According to a police report, the man drove away before officers arrived. Library staff told police that if they found the man, the library would like to press charges.

14A home in the 2500 block of Pendleton Place was burglarized prior to 4:45 p.m. June 27. The owner of the home told police someone broke into the house through a bedroom window and stole various items before leaving out a patio door that was left open. A police report did not indicate whether there were any suspects or leads.

15An anonymous caller told police a man threatened the caller at gunpoint over an unspecified driving incident around 5 p.m. June 27 near a gas station at Kensington Drive and West St. Paul Avenue. Police were unable to immediately locate the man.

16A man who was taking an afternoon nap concerned at least one resident, who called police to report the incident. According to a police report, officers found the man napping around 12:43 p.m. June 28 on some grass across from the Salty Toad, 921 Friedman Drive.

17Police advised a man to follow 'the golden rule' after he was spotted leering at people and photographing children around 5:11 p.m. June 28 at Horeb Spring Park, 330 Spring St.. However, despite the warning, he told police he would not alter his behavior — even if it made people uncomfortable — because he was on a 'crusade against the youth in the park and their gang tactics.'

18An anonymous caller told police they thought a man who was cutting his grass while wearing nothing but a Speedo was dressed inappropriately around 5:25 p.m. June 28. Police found the man in the 2100 block of Laura Lane and noted in an incident report that 'there was nothing indecent about his clothing.'

19Two girls were seen punching each other around 1:44 p.m. June 29 near North Greenfield and Arcadian avenues. According to a police report, when officers found the girls they weren't fighting, but both were arrested on open warrants.

20A man locked himself inside a gas station bathroom for half an hour around 7:27 p.m. June 30 in the 500 block of Arcadian Avenue. According to a police report, he was shouting and clapping his hands in the bathroom and later dancing in the street.
