Waukesha police are seeking possible victims of a photographer who they accuse of using his business to meet and take nude photographs of young girls.

James H. Swanson, 73, of Crivitz in Marinette County, is charged with one felony count of using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, according to state court records.

Swanson, who was charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child in 1989, used social networking sites to advertise his business, according to a news release from the Waukesha Police Department.

He was also arrested in 2001 on suspicion of taking topless photos of a 16-year-old girl but never charged, according to the release, which does not indicate where the arrest took place, where the 1989 charge originated or its disposition.

Swanson recently retired as assistant fire chief of a small town in Marinette County, according to the release that did not identify the community.

Waukesha police Thursday asked that people who suspect they were victimized by Swanson call (262) 524-3831 and request to speak to Detective Mike Carpenter or Detective David Feyen.
