Waukesha Police Report: Feb. 4, 2016 issue

1 An employee at Mama D's Coffee, 928 N. Hartwell Ave., requested that a man who was causing a problem within the shop and swearing at employees be removed at 9:38 a.m. Jan. 22. The man was taken home and was told to stay away from the coffee shop.

2 A caller driving on Hinman and West Newhall avenues saw three males fighting in a parking lot of an apartment building at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 22. The caller said when the males heard sirens, the two males who were beating up the other man got into a red Honda Civic and drove west on Newhall. The other man took off on foot between houses.

3 An evicted tenant stole all of the carpet when he moved out of the Sunset Home Condominiums, 1440 Big Bend Road, prior to 3:42 p.m. Jan. 22.

4 A female wearing a black jacket and a white headband was taken into custody after panhandling for money from customers at Speedway, 521 S. Grand Ave., at 5:09 p.m. Jan. 22.

5 Three Apple iPads were stolen from a business at 403 N. Grand Ave. between 2 and 5:30 p.m. Jan. 22.

6 Seven vehicles in the parking lot of Skateland, 1931 E. Main St., were broken into prior to 8:33 p.m. Jan. 22. The windows in all of the vehicles were smashed out.

7 Two people were taken into custody after they were seen on the OptiCop surveillance camera fighting outside the Salty Toad bar, 921 Friedman Drive, at 11:44 p.m. Jan. 22.

8 One person was taken into custody after two females had to be separated by Carroll University's Department of Public Safety after a fight at 112 S. Grand Ave. at 2:53 a.m. Jan. 23.

9 A passenger side mirror on her car was broken at 731 John St. between 8 p.m. Jan. 22 and 9 a.m. Jan. 23.

10 Milwaukee District 2 police called Waukesha police stating that, while they were investigating a robbery, they learned there was supposed to be a large party of gang members at Country Springs Hotel, 2810 Golf Road, at 7:36 p.m. Jan. 23. One person was taken into custody.

11 Two people were taken into custody after a disorderly conduct incident at Super 8 motel, 2510 Plaza Court, at 10:59 p.m. Jan. 23.

12 A man was taken into custody after a domestic disturbance call was reported Jan. 23 at 1713 Elder St. A male threw a pizza in his ex-wife's face at a Pizza Hut restaurant. Both had been drinking.

13 Two teenagers were taken into custody after a caller who works for Pizza Hut delivery reported two males were acting "stoned" at 919 Dana Lane at 1:36 a.m. Jan. 24.

14 An intoxicated man walked into the caller's apartment at 1959 Dixie Drive at 2:49 a.m. Jan. 24 and was now pounding on the front door.

15 A highly intoxicated man in his late 60s or 70s came into the Waukesha Public Library, 321 Wisconsin Ave., at 12:29 p.m. Jan. 25 and was getting verbal with staff. He left prior to police arrival.

16 A cellphone was stolen from McDonald's, 1425 S. West Ave., prior to 3:18 p.m. Jan. 25.

17 A caller reported a male intentionally pushed a shopping cart into his vehicle and broke its mirror outside Woodman's, 1600 E. Main St., at 7:08 p.m. Jan. 25. The caller said the vehicle was parked in the employee lot across from Culver's. The suspect was taken into custody and released to his mother.

18 Police responded to an apartment at 282 W. Main St. after a caller reported his roommate has two full bags of marijuana in her nightstand at 10:01 p.m. Jan. 25. Police could smell a strong odor of fresh marijuana coming from the apartment, but due to the location of the marijuana in the apartment, officers said they didn't have legal authority to retrieve it from the female's room.

19 A woman said her apartment was broken into and several items were stolen at 1713 Elder St. prior to 10:24 p.m. Jan. 25.

20 A license plate was stolen from the rear of a vehicle at 1830 S. West Ave. prior to 4:39 p.m. Jan. 26.

21 A mother was refusing custody after she said her daughter was out of control and throwing items in the house at 415 Frame Ave. at 5:25 p.m. Jan. 26.

22 One person was taken into custody following a domestic disturbance at an apartment at 117 South St. at 2:12 a.m. Jan. 27.

23 Three people were causing a disturbance in the lobby at the Best Western Waukesha Grand hotel, 2840 N. Grandview Blvd., at 9:38 a.m. Jan. 27. They were upset with staff cleaning out the hotel room and not saving the perishable food. The people, who had checked out a couple of days prior, were offered $15 for the food that was tossed but demanded more money. After hotel staff refused any compensation, the people were removed.

24 A man in his 20s carrying a backpack stole a cellphone and purse from the Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ, 413 Wisconsin Ave., at 10:37 a.m. Jan. 27. The man wasn't found.

25 A caller in traffic was locked out of his vehicle after he said he was "pranked" by some kids at East Sunset Drive and Highway 164 at 5:56 p.m. Jan. 27. He said the kids told him there was something wrong with his car tire and when he got out to look they shut his car door. Police told him to contact a tow truck or a locksmith.

26 A set of car and house keys were stolen from an unsecured locker at Xperience Fitness, 120 E. Sunset Drive, between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27.

27 After a man stole alcohol from a nearby liquor store, a caller pinned him down in a snowbank at 700 Summit Ave. at 7:01 p.m. Jan. 28. The suspect was taken into custody. The theft occurred at Delafield and Summit avenues. The employee and the caller's husband chased after the suspect.

28 A city alderman reported a man was sleeping on the top floor by the elevator in the Municipal Parking Ramp, 241 South St., at 9:06 p.m. Jan. 28.

29 An intoxicated man was taken into custody after he reportedly hit his fiancée's son at 1638 Haymarket Road at 12:14 a.m. Jan. 29. An ambulance was called, because the victim was bleeding from his mouth and his tooth was loose. He has since been charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court.

30 A woman was taken into custody for disorderly conduct after "tearing up the kitchen" in an apartment at 405 N. East Ave. at 3:43 a.m. Jan. 29.
