Man attempted to lure girl into vehicle at Heyer Elementary School

The Waukesha Police Department is investigating a report of a male attempting to lure an elementary school student into his car on Wednesday, Oct. 21.

According to news releases from the Waukesha School District and Waukesha Police Department, a student at Heyer Elementary School reported she was approached by a male who possibly attempted to lure her into his vehicle during the afternoon pick-up time.

The male is described as a tall black man with gray hair, who was wearing a red puffy jacket and light jeans. Police said he was driving an older model white four-door sedan with rust on the rear tire well.

As a result of the incident, all district staff and administration have been alerted and are increasing their presence during the drop-off, pick-up and recess times.

Parents throughout the district were notified of the incident on Oct. 21.
