Waukesha Police Report: Oct. 15, 2015 issue

1 A caller reported a homeless man has been living in the basement of an apartment at 405 N. East Ave. at 6:18 a.m. Oct. 1 and urinates and defecates in the basement.

2 A GPS and CDs were stolen from a vehicle at 725 E. Main St. overnight Sept. 30-Oct 1.

3 Money was stolen from a vehicle in the driveway of a residence at 827 Woodward St. overnight Sept. 30-Oct. 1.

4 Police were called to a home at 161 Walton Ave. after neighbors complained about the residence having a decoration of a stuffed body hanging from a tree that had a mask of President Barack Obama on a stick attached to it at 9:37 a.m. Oct. 1. A caller said this is in view of children and is upsetting the caller. Police said the person is either expressing their views with the decoration or it is just a Halloween decoration. No law was being violated.

5 Coins and binoculars were stolen from an unlocked vehicle at 1014 Oakland Ave. prior to 11:40 a.m. Oct. 1.

6 An 18-year-old was assaulted by a group of people at 1029 Oakland Ave. at 8:02 p.m. Oct. 1. One person was taken into custody.

7 Glass panels on the showroom of International Infiniti, 2228 E. Moreland Blvd., were broken prior to 9:03 a.m. Oct. 2.

8 A house was broken into and DVDs and money were stolen at 510 Maple Ave. prior to 9:27 a.m. Oct. 2.

9 A smiley face was spray-painted on a vehicle parked in the street at 426 Kimberly Drive prior to 4:31 p.m. Oct. 2.

10 A vehicle was scratched in the parking lot near Payless Shoes in the Westbrook Shopping Center, 2130 E. Moreland Blvd., prior to 8:32 p.m. Oct. 2.

11 The bottom pane of glass on the exterior door at Taco Bell, 405 W. Sunset Drive, was kicked out prior to 11:46 p.m. Oct. 2.

12 A vehicle was damaged with spray paint overnight Oct. 2-3 at 2017 Kilps Drive.

13 The back window to a vehicle was shattered at 114 Harrison Ave. prior to 11:09 a.m. Oct. 3.

14 A boy's cellphone was stolen from the locker room at Waukesha South High School, 401 E. Roberta Ave., prior to 12:21 p.m. Oct. 3. Other phones were also stolen from the high school.

15 A caller returned home to find her patio door and window open at 2420 Springdale Road at 7:33 p.m. Oct. 3.

16 A male was seen rummaging through a car at 527 E. Newhall Ave. at 10:01 p.m. Oct. 3. The male, who was carrying a camouflage backpack, took off when he was approached. Police located the suspect, and he was brought into custody.

17 A man was bleeding from his face after being punched by a male at 806 Scott Ave. at 10:20 p.m. Oct. 3. The suspect left the scene with his girlfriend.

18 A GPS unit and an iPod were stolen from a vehicle at 639 S. Greenfield Ave. prior to 8:06 a.m. Oct. 4. Other items were also found in the caller's yard, which he believed were possibly stolen from other vehicles.

19 A man was seen stopping in front of houses while apparently taking notes at 1122 Windsor Drive at 12:40 p.m. Oct. 4. Another neighbor also observed the same behavior recently. The person in question says he is a musician who lives in the neighborhood, and during walks he stops to write down music lyrics.

20 A caller said her dog was being blamed for feces in the basement of an apartment at 1921 Madera St. at 3:10 p.m. Oct. 4. However, she said it appeared to be human feces so she wanted officers to look at it. Police determined animal waste was on the basement floor but there wasn't any way to confirm or deny if it came from the caller's dog. But the woman is the only tenant who owns a dog.

21 A vehicle was hit with eggs while it was parked on the street at 1883 Haymarket Road overnight Oct. 3-4.

22 A storage unit was broken into and items were taken at 132 Cambridge Ave. prior to 8:23 p.m. Oct. 4.

23 Police responded to Lowell Elementary School, 140 N. Grandview Blvd., to check on a suspicious male who was standing near the trees and watching the playground at 3:35 p.m. Oct. 5. The male, who was wearing a trench coat and cowboy hat, was believed to be the person in question on Sept. 30 doing the same thing. The male told police he was just waiting for his three younger siblings to finish school and that he walks them home. He said he likes to wait behind the school because he doesn't like to be around people.

24 Three youths were reportedly trying to break into a vacant house at 823 Woodward St. at 5:49 p.m. Oct. 5. Police talked to the youths, who said they heard it is haunted and wanted to check it out. The kids said they did not go in the house, which has been labeled as unsafe for living. Police did not see any signs of forced entry.

25 A caller reported seeing a drug transaction at 704 N. Grand Ave. by Associated Bank at 2:24 p.m. Oct. 6. The buyers, a couple in their 50s, were seen heading toward downtown, and the seller, a male in his 40s, was heading toward the Waukesha Public Library.

26 A male pushed his medical alert button to report a disturbance in his apartment at 408 Jackson Court at 7:18 p.m. Oct. 6. The man said the disturbance was a pounding noise. Police said the noise wasn't excessive and the man was advised on the proper procedure for calling in noise complaints.

27 A caller reported a youth approached him outside his residence at 370 W. Main St. and said a man by the name of Anthony owes him $300 because he sold him "bad weed" at 11:33 p.m. Oct. 6. The caller told the teenager nobody by that name lives there. But the teenager returned a short time later with four other teenagers and began pounding on the caller's back door. The owner of Magellan's said one of the juveniles kicked in his back door and damaged a lock. The teens fled.

28 The side of the building at 301 Mill Reserve Drive was damaged with spray paint overnight Oct. 6-7.

29 A man entered the front doors of Fire Station No 2 and was pulling on the locked doors trying to get in at 1714 Pearl St. at 5:15 p.m. Oct. 7. The male left before officers arrived, but an OptiCop camera captured pictures of the male and his vehicle.
