A fight outside a Waukesha roller rink Sunday night injured a 6-year-old boy and left an adult woman hospitalized.

Police were called to Waukesha Skateland, 1931 E. Main St., shortly after 11 p.m., Lt. Ty Hoffman said Monday. There was a lock-in event at Skateland for teenagers Saturday evening.

He said a fight between two individuals in the parking lot apparently escalated into a larger altercation.

"It was a chaotic scene," he said.

Some reports indicate the boy, who Hoffman said was a nephew of the injured woman, was hit by a bottle.

The woman, in her 30s, was struck by someone fleeing from the parking lot in a vehicle, Hoffman said, and was transported to Froedtert Hospital in critical condition.

Police have recovered the vehicle involved and are looking for a known suspect, Hoffman said.
