A 34-year-old Hartland woman previously accused of intoxicated driving was allegedly found by police to be impaired again while she was waiting for a court hearing.

Emily Jarvis, W313 N4969 Chapel Ridge Road, was charged on Tuesday, Aug. 12, in Waukesha County Circuit Court with her fifth operating while intoxicated offense, felony bail jumping and driving with a revoked license. She has three prior OWI convictions on her record and is currently standing trial for her fourth.

According to the criminal complaint, Waukesha police responded on Monday, Aug. 11, to the Moreland Plaza, 801 W. Moreland Boulevard, where they found Jarvis passed out in her car with the engine running.

Jarvis reportedly told the officers she had been waiting for her court hearing (for the fourth OWI charge) to begin and had dozed off.

Police note in the complaint that Jarvis appeared very lethargic and sluggish, and they asked Jarvis to perform a number of field sobriety tests, some of which she failed.

Officers allegedly found an array of prescription drugs in Jarvis’s car after she was arrested.

Her next court hearing is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 15.
