Suspicious package found near Waukesha bridge is detonated

Waukesha police called in the Milwaukee County Bomb Squad about 7 p..m. Friday to inspect and detonate a suspicious package found next to a downtown footbridge.

Police said that though the package did not prove to be dangerous it appeared to be designed to appear as though it was an explosive device.

The package was found at the Bryant foot bridge that leads from municipal lot No. 1 to Bank St.
