A 47-year-old male is recovering at Froedtert Hospital after reportedly having his ear bitten off by a 24-year-old man Friday afternoon in Waukesha.

Waukesha Police and Fire personnel were called at 3:05 p.m. to 2315 E. Moreland Blvd. (Medical College of Wisconsin - Westbrook Health Center) after information was received that a man had his ear bitten off by another man.

The suspect is in custody, according to a news release by Sgt. David Wanner of the Waukesha Police Department.

Wanner said immediate medical attention was provided to the victim from the Medical College staff before he was transported to Froedtert Hospital for a non-life threatening injury.

In a phone interview, Wanner couldn't say the extent of the injury, what ear was reportedly bitten off or what led to the incident.

Wanner did confirm that the two were not related.

He added the investigation is in its early stages and more information could be available Monday.
