Recount in District 11 confirms Patton the winner over Miller

Published on: 4/12/2013

The recount is complete and it confirmed that Roger Patton is officially the winner of the District 11 aldermanic election.

Patton won with 203 votes, as challenger Lenny Miller, who requested the recount, had 195 votes.

Patton, the incumbent, gained one vote in the recount, while Miller's total did not change.

His total was 194 on Election Night but received one more vote once all the late absentee ballots came in, City of Waukesha Deputy Clerk-Treasurer Gina Kozlik said.

Kozlik also added that because there were less than 1,000 total votes cast in the election and 10 votes separated the candidates, the previously reported  $25 fee that Miller would have to pay for the recount was waived.

The recount occurred at the Waukesha County Courthouse Friday.
