The District 11 aldermanic result shows that every vote truly does count.
Incumbent Roger Patton edged challenger Lenny Miller by eight votes, 202-194, to retain his seat on the Common Council.
Like District 8, the Patton vs. Miller ballot was a rematch from the 2010 election.
Patton won the five-person primary over Miller by 44 votes in February.
Miller was hoping he would close the gap since there were more than 90 votes for the three primary candidates who were eliminated.
It appears some of those voters gave their vote to Miller but it wasn't enough, however, to unseat Patton in the district that represents the downtown area.
