Repeat sex offender released from prison, will live in Waukesha

Published on: 2/16/2012

A repeat sex offender has been released from prison and will be living in the City of Waukesha – the same area in which he lived before.

Jessie Vasquez, who was convicted in 1999 of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old male household member on multiple occasions over four years, will reside at 1356 E. Moreland Blvd. #1 B.

According to the Waukesha Police Department, Vasquez was released to the community on Feb. 24, 2009 and lived in that area. But after a rules violation, he was taken back into custody by the Department of Corrections in July 2011.

Vasquez, who is 5-feet-11 with black hair, brown eyes and weighs 260 pounds, was first convicted of having sexual relations with a 7-year-old boy on multiple occasions in 1987.

Vasquez, who will be under the supervision of the Department of Corrections – Division of Community Corrections, will be a life registrant with the sex offender registry and will be submitting to face-to-face registration with law enforcement.

Going forward, Vasquez is to have no unsupervised contact with minors, he can’t be in a tavern, bar or liquor store and he can’t purchase, possess or consume alcohol or illegal drugs.

Furthermore, he is to comply with sex offender rules and will be on G.P.S. monitoring for life.

Nonetheless, Waukesha Sgt. of Police John Konkol, who released this information in a Sex Offender Information Bulletin on Thursday, said it is for the public’s benefit to know about sex offenders in the area.

“He is not wanted by the police at this time,” Konkol said. “This notification is not intended to increase fear. Rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public.”

In 1997, Act 440 was passed, which allowed law enforcement the ability to share information on sex offenders with the public.

Konkol said if anyone has any questions or wants further information they should contact the Probation and Parole office at (262) 521-5132 or the Waukesha Police Department at (262) 524-3770.

Moreover, the Waukesha Police Department Crime Prevention/Community Relations Bureau can help set up Block Watch groups. Crime Prevention can be reached at (262) 524-3769 or (262) 524-3774.
