Norm Bruce, a downtown business owner and the president of the downtown Business Improvement District, announced that the 15 playable Gibson guitars for the Waukesha Gibson GuitarTown project have arrived in the city.

He said Waukesha's steering committee will show off the guitars at its 1 p.m. meeting today at the Waukesha State Bank Community Meeting Room, 151 E. St. Paul Ave.

The 10-foot guitars that will be on permanent display in downtown Waukesha arrived in the city a couple of weeks ago.

Moreover, the locations of the guitars that the committee proposed last week were all approved this week by the Public Art Committee, the Plan Commission and the Board of Public Works.

The guitars are set to be painted by local and regional artists and are scheduled to be unveiled during a two-day ceremony beginning May 31.
