Wisconsin Virtual Academy will offer informational session in Waukesha

Published on: 2/8/2012

Wisconsin Virtual Academy, an online public school that offers individualized online education for Wisconsin students in grades K-12, will hold an information session in Waukesha on Wednesday.

The informal meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at the Milwaukee Marriott West, located at W231 N1600 Corporate Court in Waukesha.

During the meeting, parents and students will have the opportunity to learn more about whether learning through an online public school is best for them.

The meeting is taking place now so families can explore education options during Wisconsin's Open Enrollment period (Feb. 6 to April 30).

Enrollment in Wisconsin Virtual Academy is open to students in grades K-12 who reside anywhere in the state of Wisconsin. But they must complete the State Open Enrollment Application for the 2012-13 school year during that three month period.

Session attendees will hear a short presentation about the program and meet school staff.

If anyone cannot attend, there is a Live Online Information Session at 1 p.m. Thursday. You can visit www.k12.com/WIVA for details or call (866) 339-9912 with questions.

Wisconsin Virtual Academy is an online public charter school authorized by the McFarland School District.
