A 66-year-old man was taken Wednesday morning to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa after a van rolled over his leg and had to be lifted off by a combination of firefighters using the Jaws of Life and airbags, City of Waukesha Battalion Chief Nick Neustaedter said.

The accident occurred at 8:46 a.m. in the parking lot of a small business mall at 2244 W. Blue Mound Road, he said.

Once the man was lifted from under the vehicle he was taken by paramedics to Froedtert, Neustaedter said. The man remained conscious, he said.

The extent of the man's injuries was not immediately known. His identity was also not immediately available.

It's unclear who owned the van or how the accident happened, Neustaedter said.
