bailing water with the bucket list

Published on: 9/7/2009

Today could have been the most routine flight, if ever there is such a thing. Same time of day and type of weather. Same general wind direction and speed. Launched from the same field as yesterday. Only main difference were the passengers and amount of balloons going up. Yesterday three balloons launched, today just the one.

You never can predict exactly where or when they'll land. My job as crew is to chase them and try to be there when they land. I enjoy the challenge of the chase, the changing scenery and all the people I meet. Passengers are often celebrating an anniversary, Saturday's flight, or birthday, Sunday's flight. It's fun to be a part of it.

Today Gloria, an octogenarian visiting from Arizona, crossed another one off her bucket list. It was a beautiful flight for beautiful woman and I was happy to be there to help her. One of the best chases ever.
