Conservatively Speaking

State Senator Mary Lazich (R-New Berlin) represents parts of four counties: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, and Walworth. Her Senate District 28 includes New Berlin, Franklin, Greendale, Hales Corners, Muskego, Waterford, Big Bend, the town of Vernon and parts of Greenfield, East Troy, and Mukwonago. Senator Lazich has been in the Legislature for more than a decade. She considers herself a tireless crusader for lower taxes, reduced spending and smaller government.

Federal Court Rules Against Wisconsin’s Voter ID Law

Tuesday April 29, 2014, Federal Judge Lynn Adelman issued a decision prohibiting photo ID.  While I am very disappointed by Judge Adelman’s decision, I know it is just another battle to make Wisconsin elections fair and transparent. Voter ID ensures the age-old principle of one vote for one person.  My goal remains for Wisconsin to have transparent, open elections free from fraud suspicion.

I fully support the Attorney General’s decision to appeal Judge Adelman’s decision to the 7th Circuit United States Court of Appeals at Chicago.  In addition, the Wisconsin State Supreme Court is expected to rule on a voter ID case.

I appeared on Upfront with Mike Gousha over this past weekend to talk about Wisconsin’s Voter ID Law and the Adelman ruling.
