Tea in the Garden?

Published on: 3/19/2014

Each year our agency coordinates a delightful spring event called Festival of Flowers.  Marty and Jane Loppnow, owners of Waukesha Floral & Greenhouse, host the event and donate 10% of the proceeds from the gift shop sales on the day of the Festival.  We held the first event in 2009, and sold out two luncheon seatings.  Every year since we have sold out the two luncheon seatings from returning attendees who are thrilled to enjoy lunch provided by Rochester Deli amidst the beautiful spring flowers in the greenhouse.

This year's event will be held on March 26, and we are adding a 3:00 p.m. Tea.  The Tea will be provided and explained by Kerry Mackay, co-owner of the Steaming Cup in downtown Waukesha.  Kerry is well known in the Waukesha community for his extensive knowledge of teas from around the world, and his enjoyment of sharing that knowledge with others.  The Tea will include four different tea and scone pairings, desserts, a take-home bag of gifts, and of course an entertaining series of floral demonstrations from Marty Loppnow.

So, although the luncheons are already sold out, seats for the Tea are still available.  Visit www.InterfaithWaukesha.org for more information.  Find a friend, bring a buddy, grab a date, and try something new!  You'll be letting life slow down for an hour or so while you support the mission of helping seniors and adults with disabilities to live independently in our community!

If you can't make the Tea, you can still support our mission by shopping at Waukesha Floral and Greenhouse on March 26!
