State Senator Mary Lazich (R-New Berlin) represents parts of four counties: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, and Walworth. Her Senate District 28 includes New Berlin, Franklin, Greendale, Hales Corners, Muskego, Waterford, Big Bend, the town of Vernon and parts of Greenfield, East Troy, and Mukwonago. Senator Lazich has been in the Legislature for more than a decade. She considers herself a tireless crusader for lower taxes, reduced spending and smaller government.

New Berlin Public Library Awarded Grant Funding

The Wisconsin Humanities Council awarded the New Berlin Public Library grant funding for the book discussion program Money & Banking beginning during spring 2014.

The program involves an informative book discussion series about various books focusing on the history and culture of currency, finances, and banking.  The goal of the program is to “explore human cultures, Ideas and values for our community.”

The informative book discussion dates and books are:

February 19th- Ascent of Money, by Niall Ferguson
March 26th- The Financer, by Theodore Dreiser
April 23rd- Reckless Endangerment, by Gretchen Morgenson
May 21st- The Bonfire of the Vanities, by Tom Wolf
