Did you know that there's an industry that determines what color we will see in the malls when the spring fashions are displayed and what color will influuence interior design and more? The upcoming year's Pantone shade is revealed to the world each year in December, and the shade for 2014 is Radiant Orchid. According to website www.pantone.com "Radiant Orchid is an enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.”
Who knew? I do think it's a very pretty color.
I confess to not really paying any attention to each year's color until our agency began a wonderful partnership with the Waukesha Floral & Greenhouse, coordinating our annual Festival of Flowers. The first event was held in March of 2010 when the Pantone color was Turquoise.

This year's event will be held on March 26, 2014 at the Waukesha Floral & Greenhouse. We have two luncheon seatings of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for 100 individuals at each seating. Previous years' events have sold out within weeks. There's something wonderful about enjoying a delicious lunch inside the greenhouse, surrounded by flowers and greens, wearing your brand new Radiant Orchid-colored outfit while supporting a local community organization.
